Inspired by Hope
YST staff, and young people we support were recently part of an art project and exhibition as part of Shaw Trust's 40th Anniversary celebrations.
Shaw Trust wanted to celebrate the creativity of care experienced individuals and invited them to contribute a piece of art that reflected something that inspired them. 65 contributions were submitted, several from YST colleagues and young people we support.

The artwork was exhibited in the Foundling Museum, London and later collated into a beautifully bound, coffee table book.
Our CEO, Chris Luck shared his thoughts in this article, saying
Art as therapy has long been recognised for its benefits: its ability to take us away from our everyday lives and its power to make sense, create perspective and redraw boundaries. This outlet for our emotions and freedom of expression was a powerful motivator and I heard first-hand how participating in the Art Exhibition helped grow confidence as the artists’ contributions and talents were recognised.
Our staff and young people were proud to be involved in the project and we hope that it encourages some of them to continue to use art as a way to inspire themselves and other.
