Exploitation and Complex Engagement
Young People sometimes need extra support when social work teams feel they may be harmed or potentially harming others. This could result in a young person being exploited in the community or online as well as getting into trouble with the law due to harmful sexual behaviour.
The Youth Support Team have a dedicated team that works with young people and their families, helping them identify what would help reduce risk of harm and build resilience and raise aspirations.
How we can help
What we can offer includes:
- We work directly with young people who are at risk of harm of exploitation by understanding any support that they need to reduce risk of harm
- We will identify shared aspirations and plans with young people and their families that are realistic, coordinated and reviewed on a regular basis
- Direct work with young people that is trauma informed
- We attend appropriate meetings with other agencies to provide updates on the impact of our work on joint cases.
- We liaise with signpost into other agencies if necessary.
Who we help
We are a county wide team working with young people from the age of 11.
