Helping young people stay safe when they’ve run away from home
Missing Young People
Young people who have run away from home are in a particularly vulnerable position.
The Youth Support Team are contacted by the police when a young person aged under 18 is reported missing in Gloucestershire. And through our Missing Persons Scheme, we work with missing young people themselves, to help find solutions to their problems.
How we can help
What we can offer includes:
Independent Return Home interviews, to explore the reasons for a young person going missing, and to look at what needs to happen to prevent further episodes
Working with young people for up to six weeks, on the issues that led to them being reported as missing
Who we help
We work with young people up to the age of 18.
At Gloucestershire Youth Support Team our priority is the safety and well being of the young people we work with and the staff that work so hard to support them.
As the national lock down restrictions are lifting, we are now returning to more face to face delivery, including some group work and events. We will be continuing to deliver virtual contact. Please be assured that we are ensuring that precautions to keep people safe are maintained in all spaces.
We know these are uncertain times and some people are experiencing heightened concerns. If you are worried please speak to your contact within the YST or contact us at email@example.com.
