Ambassadors required

The County Council's Participation Team are looking to employ more Ambassadors for Vulnerable Children and Young People.

To be eligible to apply you must:

  • be aged 16-25
  • have experienced and received support from Children and Young People’s services. This could be: you've had experience of the care system, had a child protection plan, received support from early help teams, disability service or Youth Support Team, or have received support from services in the County Council or a commissioned service.

The team are looking for people who:

  •  want to encourage and inspire other children and young people to get involved in the participation of services and give their views
  • would you to develop new skills to help you in the future


This is a great opportunity for the right person to experience working and supporting the County Council to improve services for children and young people. Formal skills and qualifications are not required as you support will be provided.

Pay is an hourly rate of £8.96 (includes living wage supplement). The work will be based in Gloucester but will involve working in different venues and locations in Gloucestershire – travel time will be paid.

The deadline date for the Application Form is 9am on Monday 1st August.  Interviews will be held on either Tuesday 22nd OR Wednesday 23rd August.


This year there will be three informal ‘Meet the Ambassador’ sessions in July. Please encourage any young person interested in applying to come along to one of the sessions to find out a bit more about the Ambassador post and have chat with present Ambassadors over refreshments. Workers / Carers or friends are welcome to come for support.
