Providing programmes to help families work together
Working with family members
In the Youth Support Team we often find that young people do best when we involve their families and carers.
In some cases, this won’t be appropriate. But where possible, we always try to include family members in the assessments we make of a young person’s needs, in what we do to help meet those needs, and in measuring a young person’s progress.
How we can help
What we can offer includes:
Involving families in the decisions that a young person makes
Involving families in the design and review of our services.
Who we help
We work with young people aged 10 – 19 (and up to 25 for those leaving care and young people with a special educational need or disability).
At Gloucestershire Youth Support Team our priority is the safety and well being of the young people we work with and the staff that work so hard to support them.
As the national lock down restrictions are lifting, we are now returning to more face to face delivery, including some group work and events. We will be continuing to deliver virtual contact. Please be assured that we are ensuring that precautions to keep people safe are maintained in all spaces.
We know these are uncertain times and some people are experiencing heightened concerns. If you are worried please speak to your contact within the YST or contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
